Facebook users will be able to share links enabling non-users to join Rooms via a web browser on both desktop and mobile.

Facebook on Friday introduced a videoconferencing tool and expanded livestreaming features, capitalising on a surge in demand for video chats during the coronavirus pandemic while taking its first steps toward a planned integration of messaging products across its apps.

The U.S. announced that another 5.2 million Americans filed new jobless claims between April 5 through April 11. The new claims add to the nearly 17 million others that have been filed over the past month. Most of those people will be able to receive benefits from the actions the U.S. government took to prop up the economy during the early days of the pandemic.

There are 15 new coronavirus cases today as Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reveals what life will look like on the other side of lockdown.

When New Zealand moves to alert level 3, there would be a partial opening of schools for students up to Year 10 only and attendance isn’t mandatory, Ardern said. Students who can remain home and do distance learning are encouraged to do so. Children at school would be kept in the same groups each day and it would be down to each school to work out how to do that, Ardern said:
